OUR STORY
In 2020, Bala and Sudha turned a backyard bench of grevillea cuttings into a weekend market stall. Six years later, Winsome Nursery is three greenhouses in Salisbury, a small team of plant obsessives, and thousands of plants raised from cutting to sale — every one of them grown for South-East Queensland conditions.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
We grow most of our own stock from cutting and seed. Fresher plants, healthier roots — and we know every plant's history.
Rainwater capture, recycled pots, peat-free mixes and beneficial insects instead of sprays wherever we can.
Every variety is trialled in our Salisbury beds first. If it won't thrive in SEQ, we don't sell it — simple as that.
THE JOURNEY SO FAR
Bala's grevillea cuttings outgrow the carport. First stall at the Manly markets.
We buy two acres and raise the first greenhouse — half of it planted out as trial beds.
Heirloom seedlings and a planting calendar tuned to the subtropics. The locals approve.
Our online shop launches — the whole nursery, packed to order and delivered.

While the online shop grows, you'll find us at the nursery seven days a week. Come wander the greenhouses, ask us anything, and take something winsome home.
